Doing some major tidying up currently, got about half-dozen assorted "round bits with teeth", manual and auto. Is it OK to store them on edge, or is there any risk of damage/deformation? (I should imagine not, but want to be sure.)

Thanks, Adam.

The "ring" gear is stout stuff.

I leave them on the bench.

In your case, Adam, leave them in your 45 case, with the Iron Maiden, Living End and Houdu Gurus albums we just know your listing to on the sly. I haven't tried my 160 tooth 250 X-flow flexplate out on my gramaphone, but the 200 manual flywheel says "This is Henry Fords spirit speaking" when you play i backwards on setting 45.

(Just kidding kids, don't try this at home)

It's just that every time I see a quantity stored, they are laying flat. Got me to wondering (considering the needs of timber and glass in storage aspect). As to my walls - they are pretty well "colonised" already. A cut-down box was the plan, and may yet happen.

Well i know new brake drums and rotors are not stored on end. They are stored flat to keep from becoming out of round. A flywheel is thick enough that i dont think it will warp. A flexplate i dunno.

I'd be inclined to hang 'em on the wall. Less chance of knockin' 'em over...

Thats what I did with my collection of them!

Later,
