Years ago I turboed the 223 in my 56 F100. I purchased a new head which had the mounting bosses for the valve cover around the perimeter. The original 56 head mounted the valve cover using studs installed in two of the rocker shaft supports.
I ended up using the 56 rocker shaft supports, which allowed me to us a polished Offenhauser aluminum valve cover. I had to do a bit of grinding on the valve cover in order for it to clear the mounting bosses on the new head.
