Hi Dave,
Welcome to the Board. There's a lot of great information here.
Yes, your 200 is the same small Ford six that is talked about on this forum.
There are a lot of things you can do to increase performance, but since your Granada is a 1982 Model Year, you may be limited if smog testing is still required. In California, where I am, any car newer than 1975 needs to pass a smog test.
The smog test here requires a visual verification that certain non-factory modifications have not been made to the engine - such as installing a different carburetor.
As a general answer, you want to increase the "breathing" of these engines. This is done by a header, a freer flowing exhaust system, a 2 barrel carburetor in place of the factory 1 barrel, installing larger valves, porting the head, etc. More extensive mods would include a turbocharger or a supercharger - both of which have been documented on this forum.
I would recommend getting the Falcon Performance Handbook. You may have already read about it on this forum. It's a highly valuable source of information for our engines.
You are limited by:
1) Your Budget
2) Your state's smog requirements
3) Your imagination.
I hope you make your dreams come true for a "hot" Granada.
Regards,
