I have 1960 Comet with a 1968 200ci L6. It has the newer non-spark control distributor. I rebuilt the original 1100 last year and she ran a lot better. The problem is the choke housing is badly warped and cracked and the linkage is disconnected and possibly missing.
I figured it'd be easier to pick up a re manufactured carb from Rock Auto. They have a few listed for 68 L6 motors.
The Carter YF, Motorcraft 1101a, and a Holley. I was going to just pickup the 1101a figuring it'd be an easy no brainier bolt it on, but with core fees included I can get the Carter YF for $100 cheaper.
I seam to remember there being something different about the throttle linkage for the Carter though. I have the old 1960 linkage hooked up now. Does any one know off hand if the Carter's linkage will hook up easily? I'm not afraid of some fab work if need be but I'd like to know ahead of time what I'm getting into.
Any opinions positive or negative on the Carter over the 1101a?
Thanks in advance for your input.
