Can someone please supply me with the external engine dimensions for the 200ci and 250ci engine? I am looking for L X W X H so that I can do up an engine template for a project that I am currently working on. Also did Ford ever use a rear sump oil pan on these motors? Or were they only front sump?

Thanks!

They were only front sump for the 250. The 200 had a rear sump for Bronco applications. Not sure about the dimensions.

I don't have the measurements either, but when you are asking. Can you be more specific.

Are you asking about the block only or a fully loaded block?
from bellhousing mount to water pump mount? Or do you want it fully dressed with alternator, powersteering, and/or AC?
Do you need to know how wide the engine is with a distributor and an exhaust manifold?

I am looking for the following measurements:

Length: Back to front of the block not including the water pump
Height: Bottom of sump to the top of the valve cover. Front/Middle/Back

I want to do up a cardboard side profile template of the motor.

Thanks!

The 250 is 26 3/8" from the bellhousing flange to the water pump and timing cover flange, it is 30" from the bellhousing flange to the face of the balancer. It is 27" from the lowest point on the sump to the top of the valve cover breather, 24 7/8" to the top of the valve cover itself.

The 170 I have is about the same front to back, but only ~28 5/8 to the face of the 1v balancer and looks to be about 25 1/4" from the bottom of the sump to the top of the valve cover breather.

The carb and air cleaner are higher of course.
