Just wondering if 69-70 200 and 250 blocks are the same, are they?
(from NZ Aus)
Reason is because I want to get a block cleaned and painted all sorted for the 250-2v I'm building up, I plan to take my current engine ('69 250) out of my car when the major bits of the engine are done and change the piston's crank over to the 2v.

Possible?
Easy ways to check?

Nope.

The 64 XM to 66-67 XR 200 block is 7.803" tall from sump split line to head gasket, is similar to the 64- 83 US 200 block. Real low deck engine swamped by engine bay.

1968-1970 block is 188 or 221, and is 8.425" tall from sump split line to head gasket, still small in the XW engine bay.

The later Aussie 1971-1976 200/250 block is 9.38" tall from the sump to the head. 3.126 and 3.91" stroke cranks interchange, rods and pistons are different to create the right compresion. No external changes, but very tall engines!

The 69 to 80 US 250 is 9.469" tall, and wider thanthe Aussie 200/250 and has a V-8 bellghousing.

Thanks dude, knew I could count on you!
I'm pretty sure the blocks are aussie, but I think they have v8 bellhousings, which means they could maybe be US...
I'll check the part numbers..
