200 Header/Exhaust Manifold

I was wondering if anyone had a steel exhaust manifold on their 200?

If so, can I get a picture of it and possibly some demisions, or a link to where you got them.

I'm working on another one of my crazy 4 cylinder projects and want to see something. I'm not looking for the kit to make dual exhausts, just a standard exhaust manifold.

Not from me. Hey, do you want a cut up Alloy head off an Aussie Falcon?. I'm gonna band saw the head at no 5 as a science experiement. I can send you the remains. A little welding, and your on the Ford Six team with even more of a vengence!

Back to the 200 exhast posts, sorry to interupt!

This is for my I4 car. The engine is based on a US 200. If it were cut at between #4 & #5, that would be no biggie.

My goal is to come up with a header for my 4 cylinder.

does anyone know of any where you can get actual headers for the 200 i-6? this is one thing i can not find.

good to see you over here! check out the shop section on the homepage, i'd reccomend the falcon performance handbook, and then head on over to azcoupe's page, he's got bunches of stuff to sell us including headers

Tim the ports are not arranged the same on a six as they are on a 2.3/2.5 Tempo. Yours are evenly spaced, the six has some siamesing between intakes and exhaust. Consequently, the ports are not in the right place.

Don't the HSO engines come with headers? Or a free flowing cast manifold?

8)

Once upon a time Ford Motorsport used to list a Tri-Y header for the Tempo motor. I have'nt seen it listed in years.

I think the 2.3L/2.5L HSC was also offered in the Aerostar. You might see if they offered a different exhaust header for it.

Reason I ask is a cheap and economical upgrade for the 2.3L Mustangs is a Ranger shorty header. Maybe they made one for the Aerostar.

Jack, all 2.3L OHV engines got the same cast manifold, no matter if they were HSC or HSO. The cast exhaust manifold is very restrictive and of very poor quality. Not to mention, the 2.3's have the same siamese intake/exhaust ports setup as the 200.

Out of the 4 TT's (tempo & topaz) I've owned, atleast 3 of them have cracked exhaust manifolds. My goal was to get something to use as a templet to design a steel exhaust header for my car. I ran across this picture of a block hugger header for a small block chebby bent 8 that really got me thinking.

This header is very similar in design to the stock exhaust manifold for my car.
