A '56 223 I-6 is going trough 2 1/2 Qts of oil a week.
It was suppossedly built w/ performance parts, 3/4 cam, bored, ballanced, blue printed, etc.
No Puddles.
No oil slick on the engine, in the compartment or undercarriage.
Pull the breather cap off the fill spout & a whitish mist is blowing out,
A whitish mist comes out of the crankcase vent tube,
Rapping the throttle causes white smoke, though at idle its sooty,
After she warms up & she sits ideling at a stop Light/Sign white smoke bellows out from underneith the sides of the Cab/Firewall area,
An oil slick is in the radiator head tank, but no water in the oil pan,
She runs real rich & gets poor petral milage,
Black soot in the exhaust pipe,
& there is an oil film on the tailgate.

Overall power range is inadiquate to do anything but cruise around town. If she hits a minimum 3-5% grade on the Hwy, speed drops off & can't be gotten back even on a Flat stretch of road, unless she is down shifted & even then maybe gets 5 mph back after straining.

Did a compression check;
1 & 6 were at 125lbs
2 was at 119lbs
3-4-5 were at 149lbs

Any & All helpfull suggestions & comments would be greatly appreciated.

HAVE YOU INSPECTED THE SPARK PLUGS ? IS IT IDLING ROUGH?

ALSO THAT SEEMS LIKE QUITE A DIFFERENCE IN COMPRESSION BETWEEN CYLINDERS.a SMALL LEAK/CRACK IN THE HEAD GASKET MIGHT ACCOUNT FOR THE WHITE SMOKE / OIL IN THE RADIATOR.

B.C.

They are all Black & Sooty.
Idle is as smooth as silk, first quarter crank & starts right up as well.

Thank'ee
Flashy
