I brought home a 49 F3 with a 226 flathead a few weeks ago. The thing has sat for years, but the engine turns nicely and there is no sign of water in the cylinders. Looks like a good candidate for a rebuild.
I'm noticing that things like water pumps, oil pumps and distributors are scarce. I've found a few water pump rebuilders online which I think will be my best option for that. Napa I see still carries the basic distributor parts, but I'm not seeing any oil pumps or even oil pump rebuild kits offered.
What are you guys doing for oil pumps or rebuild kits?
I've been wrenching on old cars for decades, but mostly Y-blocks. This is my first foray into the world of flatheads. Seems like there's no end to V8 parts but flat 6 stuff is tougher.
