250 into Fairlane

Is it possible to put a 250 into a 63 fairlane? I have a 170 now. Are the motor mounts in the same position on the block? I am hoping to reuse my current mounts.

I understand it is a taller motor, but is there a difference in length?

8) there is a slight difference in overall length, but i think that is due to the water pump on the 250. and yes you can put a 250 into a 63 fairlane. you can modify the stock engine mounts to allow the engine to sit lower, or oyu can make a custom mount.

Don't forget that the 170 and 250 have different transmission bellhousing patterns.
