my question is will the retainers sold at classic inlines work with the 302 valve springs which are 1.2 outer and .8 inner. the retainers say theyll fit 1.25 and .93 inner there is my confusion. cold someone clarify this.

I have the 302 springs and the CI retainers, they installed them and I haven't had any problems.

I think your good to go

only problem hauss umm the spring seat is too small it is made or cut for the larger spring diameter. so in other words i cannot use the springs i just spent 27 bucks on. the machine shop said they dont have the tools to cut the spring seat. they have the stuff for the valve guide but not for the spring seat. to use these springs i would have to take the step down could i do this at home or does it have to be a certain finish so the valve spring doesnt either fuse or wear too much. NVm i wasted my money. the springs were a deal. the guy said tey were the 302 springs from classic inlines.they are too small for my cylinder head and retainers. cheaper for me to just buy a spring thatll fit my configuration from summit

I honestly think IMO they will work, do you have them in hand? install 2 valves, one with the stock spring/retainer and the other with the CI spring/retainer... im not positive what your getting at except the size of the spring vs retainer.

if i were you, compare with actual sight. look how they fit, try different combinations, look at all new vs all old or a mix thereof.

welll forget it bc i bought some springs that are a lil bit more aggressive but they fit. where can i get some chrome moly locks?
comp maybe lemme check the website if they have a catalog
.

the spring are
Erson performance parts
part # E915021
single spring with dampener.
They fit with stock retainers and stock umbrella seals. no machining whatsoever.
i am thinking about installing stainless valves but i`ll see howmuch they want to machine the seats. Only thing is , is that when i was at the engine builders place getting spring I started a conversation about Ford 200s , he said that they had a stock class mustang running 15.7 cheater cam multiangle valve job with a good racing C4 tranny . this guy has been building motors since the 60s.He has worked on every kind of engine build ranging from 3-8 cylinder engines. he prefers the ford 200 over the v6 any day of the week. i think i gotta get a roller timing set . from mike`s experience in breaking the cam sprockets. Has anyone else had a problem with stock stuff and a 274* hydraulic camshaft?
