3G Alternator

I've Swaped in a 3G Alternator to my 67 mustang 289 and need a little more belt adjusment, the alternators back as fare as it will go the belts just about tight if the belt was 1 inch shorter it would work, is there a chart of belt sizes that I can look at to find the right size V belt, most guys in the parts store are lost if dont give them a car name and eng. size w/ or w/o A/C and so on

Usually you can decrypt the part number from the belt length, and then give them the part number of the belt you need.

Or try going to a different place. In general I know exactly what you mean but there are a few places still out there that can handle it.

I found some Info the belt I was using is a Goodyear mileage maker 15405mk size 40.5 inches here are some of the belts I'll be trying out 15395mk size 39.5 inches, 15400 size 40 inches
