1. I don;t have PayPal, can I get the Ford Six book using a check or MO?

2. What does it mean when an engine is stroked?

3. Is stroked and bored the same thing?

4. What do stroked and bored mods do to the engine?

You'll have to ask AZCoupe (Mike) about payment.

Bored means the cylinder hole has been made larger. The diameter is now larger, requiring a larger piston. When you hear someone say it is thirty over, that means the cylinder holes were machined 30 thousandths of an inch larger than the stock size. Boring gives you a larger combustion chamber, and therefor more cubic centimeters of displacement.

Stroking means modifications were made to crankshaft and connecting rods that connect to the piston. When an engine has been stroked, the piston now moves further up and down the chamber, thereby generating more compression.

More volume, and more compression usually translate to more horsepower.

You probably meant to say modifications made to the crankshaft rather than cam.

Thanks for catching that - you're absolutely right! I corrected it.
