5200 on a capri

Wow, Mark P was right! Yes, Virgina, there really was a factory 6500 or 5200 Holley Weber 2-bbl on the 81 Capri RS.

It had the option of the T4 or SROD 4-speed, and yielded a 15% power boost.

19.1 second quarter mile was slashed from over 20 seconds, even with the 2.49 axle.

Looks like we can dump 2-bbls onto any Fox body if you can quote the EO number for the carb. Emmissions Nazis can't wipe the smile off my face!

I knew a guy back in high school (1984) who had a RS with the straight 6. He had the 4-speed and I remember that the car would go. I never did get a peek at the engine, mind you. It would be a rare piece today!

This makes me wonder if the local "Ford authorized shop" got their ideas from this Capri. It all looks like real FoMoCo parts on the ones I have seen.

too bad most of these cars have had the 6 yanked and an 8 put in..

makes me miss my capri, 80 with a 200. body is shot, an uncle is still driving it, but the frame had a wicked twist in it and the doors were falling off, and..

well you get the picture, still runs great though!!!

man, been awhile since i have been to that site. takes me back....
