A stupid fuel regulator question

Hi

I got a stupid fuel pump question, Can i use the mallory 4309 regulator with my efi fuel pump?? (walbro 255lph ) if i set the regulator to say base 5 psi will the regulator bypass the "rest" ? I feel stupid about this

I also have a carter street el.pump wich gives 7 psi but thats not enough for 10-15 psi boost pressure so thats when i thought about my efi pump, will it work in boosted carb applications ?

My concern would be the 3-12 psi adjustment range and the proposed 15psi boost, it should return the rest.
