Adapting a 2 bbl

I was wondering how helpful getting the clifford 2 bbl adapter is? I want to directly mount a 2 bbl on to the intake log but it seems like a lot of work. So is the adapter pretty good or should I go all the way.
Also what would be the best 2 bbl to use?

I had Dan (importkiller) work on my head and he bored out the intake hole. I got the clifford adapter and bored out the hole to fit. It seemed to work out real well so far, lol, then my distributor went loose and timing got screwed fouling up my plugs. But it is a good adapter from what Ive heard and from what I can tell.
