Adjustable Thermostatic Fan Clutch

The ultimate fan seems to be elecitric but a thermostatic fan clutch seems to be the best combination of efficiency and simplicity. Is there a fan clutch that you can actually adjust the temperature or rpm that it kicks in at? I have found that there seems to be a standard that kicks in at around 170 degrees and rotates up to 75% or 80% of engine rpm. The heavy duty models rotate closer to engine speed and kick in at a lower temperature. It would seem that if you could adjust the temperature, rpm kick in, and % of engine RPM, you could come near the efficiency of electric with a much more simple install.

I looked for a thermostatic clutch one time, but the one I bought and returned did not provide enough clearance between the radiator. I don't know of any adjustable clutches.

Has anyone else found one that works? Brand and Part numbers?

A clutch fan is the best for moving lots of air. If you do a lot of slow speed driving in traffic, have AC, or live in a warm climate, that might be a good option. But they do use some power, maybe 5-10 hp. That's as much as 10% on a stock engine.

For most of us, an electric fan represents a significant performance improvement by reducing that parasitic loss.
