Well a xflow with a 1V stromberg has only 1 1/2" between the carb and the underside of the hood on a 68 mustang. Not really enough space to fit a regular air cleaner.

Anyone have a pic of a stock air clener setup for a 1V carb? Any suggestions on what I can do for an air cleaner?

Don't want to get too crazy with building something because pretty soon I am going to go with a 2v carb.. Which should sit lower.

You probably need one from a 71-75 Falcon. They're pretty thin. Is it a Stromberg BXV?

Get either
1)the old 250/289/390 Autolite item found in California 1968 to 1969 Mustangs, or

2)its Jap rip off from any Aisin carbed Toyota 4 X 4 or some of the later carb 22R engined SR5/Hiluxes. Either one is efficent, strong, and it fits when your having issues with the very tall 250 engine

A good one is of the FJ40 Landcruiser 2F, 1975- 1978 with Aisin 2-bbl carb, Used 135 ping.

or

3)The Jeep 4.0 HO throttle body gooseneck and air cleaner or

4) Does 10's gooseneck. Space is likely to be an issue with that

Thanks guys. I guess I will go hunting at the junk yards for Jeeps with the 4.0. There are probably some of those around here. The toyota stuff is pretty expensive on that site and I don't think there are too many around here at the yards.
