Hi folks - just joined and I’m very keen to get my 1968 ZB ( Australian) fairlane up & running.
It’s a fairlane custom - which was usually a down spec vehicle. Mine has a 221ci ( 3.6 litre) and a
‘Three on the tree’ manual gearbox. It still retains its 3.23 ratio diff - that was standard on the manuals,
Whilst the autos ran a 2.92.
I have been on the VI email list for ages ( no biggie - I understand) BUT was very keen to get HP and torque figures from the addition of a late model head.
One mob in Sydney ( Aust) have flowed a VI head - and they were less than impressed with the figures.
I own 2 x 2502V heads ( my brother has another 2) - and they are pretty thin on the ground.
The Sydney company has run the VI head - then modified it extensively to get it to perform.
They also did a 2502V head as a comparison venture.
The 2V head ended up giving 270 hp to the ground - running through a C4 auto.
They have yet to run the VI head.
Does anyone in this group have performance figures on the VI head?
I’d like to support the venture - but not if I’m just getting mediocre performance increases.
Thank you for your time.
