would a 1979-1993 aluminum radiator fit in a 65 mustang for 6 cylinder engine (of course)??? have one for like 315 dollars.

actually, more news 27.5 x 19 inches and 31 x 19 ford universal aluminum at 169.99-179.99

http://www.jegs.com/cgi-bin/ncommerce3/ ... rmenbr=361

would either fit

another thing all things being equal which do u prefer a 2 row, 3 row, or 4 row radiator?? and why??? (not aluminum)

Well, there are always aircraft shears...
A two row aluminum radiator will out cool a three or four row brass raditor of the same area, but it will not last nearly as long. I put two huge aluminum radiators in my 62 wagons. Someday I'll update the website with what's been done to the Squire this year. It took some chopping and stuff to make the cars fit the radiators. Now, there are direct fit aluminum radiators for the old falcons and mustangs. The guy I bought my big radiators from has an ebay parts store now and sometimes sells them:

Correctly sized aluminum radiators for these cars are now commonly available from car specific vendors.

The radiator we're using on the Crossflow Coupe is the 22" unit from Speedway Motors. It has two 1" rows, and is the right size, but has no mounts. You have to come up with those yourself. You also have to adapt the hoses. It's a race car piece, so that's to be expected, but you can't beat the price.

It's been two years for the Squire, one with A/C, and I haven't hit 200*f yet.
There is no kill like overkill.

well here in the midwest I have trouble getting my car warm in teh winter. without blocking the whole thing off nearly I can't even get it over 150 on the interstate in winter.

That sounds familiar...

When I lived in North Dakota, I would cut a piece of cardboard that fit the whole radiator, except for a 2" tall slot across the top of all cores.

I think the heater core did ALL of the engine cooling!

Sounds good to me, what size would fit my 67 mustang??

Has someone been there and done it??

Thanks, William

Bill, the 22" unit fits nicely in the 66 and would be an easy fit in yours. You might even get the 26" unit to fit. Just measure the width of the current radiator.

Mounting is easy. I just bent some sheetmetal into a channel and used pieces of old mouse pads for cushions. I made aluminum brackets for the top and bolted it to the radiator support.

Thanks, Jack, I just thought about that I will need a transmission cooler because my 67 has the c-4 auto trans.

I'll check this out. Thanks for the quick response. William

Jack, what did you use for the mounts? were you able to find something to adapt, or did you have to fab it all up yourself?

EDIT: poop... i should really re-read threads before i reply to 'em...
got any pics?

Evan, the lower mounts are just sheet metal bent into a "U" and bolted to the frame. Stuff the U full of rubber (mouse pads work good) and set the rad into it. The top i just bolted with two aluminum brackets, but more sheet metal and mouse pad would be easy to do.
