AMC six in a Rambler convertible

I'm thinking about buying a '64 Rambler 440 convertible that has had a Ford six swapped in. It also has the Ford automatic transmission. I don't yet know the model or size of the engine. The current owner believes it to be a 200. I'll post more info and some questions soon.

Yes, it appears to be a 223. Anyone know when the valve cover on 223s changed from center bolts to perimeter bolts?

They are good engines. Even if you get it running without tearing into it, I strongly recommend at least changing the timing chain. It has a chain, not gears, and they wear a hole in the bottom of the cover when worn.
