Well, first off, I know these are rare trannies but not desirable for performance apps. I have a 63 S-22 Comet convertible that I just put a rebuilt 200 and had the Dagenham rebuilt as well. Apparently, the trnny guy couldn't find a new clutch fork retainer and made a cheesy one out of a piece of coat hanger. This isn't working well and need to get a new retainer. I found someone that has it, but he wants $100 for it. I just love people that get greedy when others are in need.

So, if anyone has upgraded from a Dagenham and want to sell me their old retainer, that would work too. At least I'd be back on the road again.

Thanks.

$100 for a clutch fork retainer????? It's not rare as hens teeth. It's the same one used on every bellhousing throughout the 60's. I probably have 20 of them in a can somewhere. Hmmm...20 x $100 = new Electromotive Tec3... :D

So, they are not specific to the Dagenham, eh? I can't find new ones at any of the usual outlets i.e Obsolete Ford Parts, etc.

Can ya send me a couple?? How much?

I haven't been out in the garage in a while and won't be for a while to look (been caring for a sick dog). However, I just flipped through a Mustangs Unlimited catalog. They list ist as a Clutch Fork Anti-Rattle Spring. It's $8.95 and is p/n 67562A. Any other parts house should be able to help you as well. Call your guy back and tell him that, that's what I'd do.
