I have a 200 that came in my 68, I also have a 250 out of a 73 Maverick. Does anyone know if a late model automaic with overdrive will fit these engines? The 200 had a3-speed on it and the 250 had c-3.

If you do a search you'll see that this has been covered a bunch of times on here :)

You may want to just go with a C4 and forget an AOD, IIRC some folks have managed to get stuff to work but the AOD uses more power than the C4 and even with OD I think it becomes a wash.

That being said, look around & if you still want an AOD then go for it & good luck!

The AOD is an easy bolt-on to a 250. Use a 164tooth flexplate from a 300 and it just bolts on.

The only hard part is the Throttle valve linkage. You need to fabricate a rod or a cable to activate the valve, otherwise it won't shift properly and could cause the trans.

The AOD wor to failh the .6ks nicely on the 250 wit3 OD. It has a reputation as a power pig, but with a direct drive 4th gear it is actually pretty efficient.

There is no easy way to use an AOD on a 200. It may be possible to use a C5 bellhousing on the A4LD transmission, but no one has tried that to my knowledge.
