ARP rod fasteners

Howdy,

What type of machining is invloved when installing the ARP rod fasteners? Is it worth it or an overkill. If I do use them, I need something to tell the machinist what to do, that's if he doesn't know already. This turbo'ed engine of mine will mostly be street, maybe a sand drag here or there, and I will be using the ARP main studs, anyway. Appreciate the help.

ps. block goes to machinist today.

289/302 ARP rod bolts will fit in with NO modifications.

With the current engine I would have gone with ARP 289/302 mains bolts as 200cid head bolts too, but that I learned here at Fordsix.com just recently.

Absolutely a must for anybody rebuilding a small six. So many rod bolts have surrendered and destroyed the whole engine, no matter what's the stage of tune in the engine. For example check out Finnstanger's pics of his bone stock block destruction due to rod bolt failure.

Cheap insurance 8)

Carry the bolts to the machinist along with the block. They'll change the bolts, and have the rods' big ends straightened and honed too.
