Can anyone post pictures of how they hooked up their accelerator linkage, or at least post a description of how they did it?

thanks!

I converted to a cable linkage. I think pretty much everyone had to in some fashion or another. I simply bought a V-8 pedal assembly and connected a Lokar cable kit.

MustangRob,
Take almost any Ford Fairmont pedal and Pepboys universal cable kit, install pedal and kit and attach bracket (you make) to last intake bolt, tighten and adjust and drive like hell

Pepboys cable kit is $24.99, fairmont pedal at junk yard $10.00

Isn't teh fairmont a floor mount pedal?

That's why I went with a V-8 mustang pedal, I wanted a stock interior look.

I used a cable pedal from a 71 Mustang using a 250. Set it up similar to Mustangaroo.

Slade, my Mustang was a floor mount pedel, all be it not is the same spot, just depends on how his pedel is mounted and what he wants to do? Either way it's not a hard converison to do.

I just saw in your sig it shows a 350 2bbl. So, I am guessing it will be the Holley 2300. If so, I have a very simple way to do it.

Remove the old linkage up to the bar that connects to the pedal. You will then have a bar going straight up behind the engine. Bend that bar slightly to the passenger side and then hook up a "Z" bar that the V8's use. Its that simple. No swapping pedals or converting to a cable throttle is needed. Once done it will look like a V8 linkage and should take 10 mins.

I have a 4v on my Oz head and i simply just rebent it to fit, i will look for pictures in the morring, i have class at 11. you don't need to convert to cable.

I would like to see how you got the 4v on there too please. What carb are using? Please email me from my profile or shoot me a PM.

I just mounted my OZ2V intake last night and worked on mocking up the carb mounting and linkage. I'm using a Holley 2300 (500CFM model POLISHED of course). I bought a "like Lokar" throttle cable and spring/bracket kit of eBay (SAME as Lokar just half the price..like the PepBoys version probably...mine of course is stainless and chrome). i also bought the "like Lokar" firewall mounted pedal. I have to figure out the mounting of the pedal next week when the motor and tranny go back in, but my cable linkage was a snap. I just have to add a small spacer under the carb for the butterflies to clear the Holley adapter plate.

I used the bracket that came with the kit and mounted it to the rear carb stud on the driver's side. I raised it off the carb base about 3/4 inch with a nut for a spacer to level the throw to the throttle. I have to fab up a couple other brackets (one at the rear of the motor to make the turn toward the driver's side and one in front of the driver's seat to make the turn to the firewall), but shouldn't be a big deal at this point.
