ok i am thinking about swaping in an au lsd diff into my xt falcon and was wondering if au mags will fit onto my front hubs or are they different? thanks Aaron

You might need to go to XH ute front uppers and lowers. Maybe even then run a spacer. The backset will be different, but I ca't give a number.

The XH utes ran E series front suspension not X series. Also wheel backspace is pre AU, same as your XT. If you get the diff shortened you should be able to run your current wheels as the bolt pattern is the same just the backspace is different.

5x114.3 is your bolt pattern, easy enough as its all the 5 stud falcons and Valiants i think too. :D
The early 4 stud Falcons are 4x108 same as Cortina/escort/capri/focus/laser etc
Offsets differ between models but almost all the 5 stud falcons are around a 30 to 39 positive offset
where as the AU and BA are a negitive offset bout a 6 i think.
So all up theres around 30 to 40mm difference in the bolting flange between the rims/alloys So thats how far youve gotta get your hubs and brakes to come out. And youll need a 15 inch AU rim to fit over the AU brakes. They also have a slightly larger hub to the earlier models. But EL/EF hubs sizes are the same but i dont think the EL/EF 15 inch rims will fit over the AU brakes.
Trial and error my friend. Not to many have gone the AU rear ends, good luck.

I know there's a difference between E-series and X-series front suspension because widened XC 12-slots rubbed on an EA. How hard would it be to fit E-series fron gear to his car and space the wheel out to just work? If the rear spring pads match up (assuming wagon AU diff) then that end is taken care of.

i will end up getting after market rims so i should be able to get the offsets right (i hope). the Au diff looks good as they would have low k's and lsd but i am not sure what sort of power they can take? is there a differance between the 6 and 8?

thanks Aaron
