Does anybody know if the 1100 and 1101 have the same top half of the carb and use the same air cleaner housing? I want to keep my stock (1100) air cleaner housing- I don't much care for the dinky 5 in. diameter chrome housings at the local parts store :P but I need to upgrade to a bigger one bbl. carb and can't find any later air cleaner housings in the wrecking yards that will fit the carter YF. Thanks,

I have both a 1100 (2 for a 170) & a 1101 (for a 240). While I'm not totally sure about the complete top half, they can use the same air cleaner assembly. In fact, if you look through the parts books, the falcons/mustangs/full size cars/trucks etc. through the mid '60s all used the same air filter.

Edwin,

I'm not surprised that the air filter is the same, but I've been told the Carter 1bbl used on the '70- up 200's uses a differant air cleaner housing. Know I know I need to find an 1101 so I can keep my stock housing - thanks!

Just out of curiosity, besides the bigger bore and bolt pattern what distinguishes the 1101 from the 1100? I've heard there were 1100's with the larger bolt pattern.
