Non-oiling custom made ball and cup pushrods from Smith Bros for use with the aluminum cylinder head and a 250 cid engine (excellent condition with approx. 4700 miles on them). These were used in conjunction with a Rocker Arms Unlimited adjustable rocker arm assembly. They have a cup radius of 3/16, ball radius 3/16, tube diameter .375 and effective length of 8.935. That's a good price for an uncommon item. But I'm a little confused. A 250 block is taller than a 200 block, so 250 push rods need to be longer than 200 pushrods no matter what head is on. Are you saying that these push rods are even longer than normal ones for a 250, to make up for the aluminum cylinder heads being taller than iron heads?

yes

Thanks. I guess it doesn't matter much because I probably won't be buying one. But I had thought the aluminum heads were made to be compatible with the standard parts like valve train components and exhaust manifolds/headers. After paying for that head, custom push rods probably don't seem so expensive...

The aluminum heads are made to be compatible with MOST standard parts...headers, valve covers and rocker assemblies all bolt right up. Pushrods however are a different story as I found out.

I'll take them if they're still available.

Do you have anything else from the engine besides the DUI?

Morgan hill, California. 95037. I’ll take the pushrods, valve cover, fan shroud and radiator. And I guess the alternator bracket.

Are you still running the 250 in something? I thought I saw you did a V8 swap.

Sounds good. I will definitely have to ship in at least 2 boxes. Give me a day or so to get that figured out and to provide shipping costs to you. My 250 spun a rod bearing and I decided to swap to a small block ford 302.

Do you still have that crank? I remember it being a thing of beauty.
I do but it's still in the short block as I have not taken it apart and at this point I do not know if it is damaged or not. I do have someone that has committed to picking up the entire short block from me by the end of this month. If that falls thru I will let you know.

hey - just quick note on pushrods : after Block decking, head milling AND/OR various year / genre small block six parts can necessitate 'custom' pushrods.
.
valuable resource I've used , sells 200/250 adjustable rockers with custom PR's. setup conversion and Hi-Ratio sets. (vendor supplier)
.
D7xx 250 Block with D3xx cyl head upon assy the (earlier) adjustable rockers were at very end of adjustment and ordered 'custom length' 250 ball and cup rods. AFAIK, NO US 250's were equipped OEM with adjustable lifters.. With standard rockers and 'OEM" length 250 pushrods on an uncut D7xx head with @ .045 gasket, RAU made a short set for this engine build to place adjuster in proper lifter orientation. ...

.
have fun

I just sent you a direct message with shipping quotes etc...
