Howdy Yall!

According to the post history, it's been about 2 years since my last post. I figure I'm a little over due.
For those of you that recall, I started out of Phoenix Az in 2003 with a 65 Mustang with a 68 / 200 / I6 block. Being in the Military, I've deployed and moved a few times since buying "Frankenstang". We moved from Phoenix to Great Falls Montana, where I was only able to drive Franenstang 3 months out of the year. From there we moved to Lajes Field, Azores, Portugal, a beautiful tropical island about 3/4 way between New York and Portugal. I didn't want to get good at cutting out rusted metal and welding in new pannels, so I chose to put Frank up on jack stands in Great Falls. I've got a few months left to this tour before heading back Stateside. I figure it'll be late spring to early summer before I can make the drive up to Montana to pick up Frank.
I just wanted to say howdy and I'll be poppin from time to time.
Take Care

Hope it's been a fun time, that U were lurkin around here when able, and you 'pickled' or otherwise took care of the vehicle while away.

Thanks for your Service to us all.

What's up first (mechanically) when gettin the rig back so it's runnin?

Everyone there in Great Falls said SeaFoam was the way to go. I added it to the fuel and oil and ran the motor a good hour before putting the car up on stands. I'm figuring the worse thing that I'll have to do is rebuild a motor and trans. The hardest part will be waiting for the opportunity to drive to Great Falls and pick up the car. I've really missed working on the car and driving it.
So far, there's a 68 Firebird and a late 60's/early 70's Cutlas on the island. Really makes me miss Frankenstang even more.

Take care

Thanks for the reply...

Looks like U got a C4 in it?

Chad,

Yes, I'm running a C4 trans.
I've spent many years working at making it go (faster). I figure, now it's time to work on making it slow down. I've still got the front/rear drum - single resevoir brakes system. I'm not so interested in power brakes as I am interested in, at a minimum, front disk brakes. Not too sure who I want to go through, was leaning towards SSBC. I'd still like to keep it a 4-lug setup.

I'd also like to rebuild/replace the rearend. It's the stock rearend. Again, I'm trying to keep a 4-lug setup when doing this stuff.

Those will be my first two major projects.

I'm also very interested in Mike's aluminum head and fuel injection/TBI. Holley and Webber both have some very nice kits.
We'll see what is in-store for me when I roll up that storage door for the first time in over two years. :D
