After months and months of reading this and other websites im off to purchase a new turbo for my 250 with Aussie 2V head
My goal is to drag the car but it will still be regulary street driven
I beleive the TO4B is a good turbo for this heres the sizing I havedecided on
TO4B 57mm compressor
.68a/r turbine
I will limt the timing to 27 deg
I have a boost referenced fuel regulator and holley blue pump
Nitrophyl float 350 Holley Number 71 Jet
Does this sound good
Particulary interested in comments on the turbo
Thanks for your help once again

What transmission are you going with? If it'll mostly be drag, you could go with a larger turbine A/R. I think the .69 is a good match for the realistic rpm range of the 250, though.

That's almost the same turbo that we have on Kelly's car.
Our turbine housing is smaller though. We're currently using a .58.
Does it have a .60 A/R compressor housing?
Will

27 may be too much, start lower (20 total) and work up
The Holley blue will be good to about 6 psi of boost and not much more. It isn't a high pressure pump.

57mm doesn't say much.....you really need to know what "Trim" you are working with. Same with the exhaust side....there are many different turbine wheel trims that all use a .68 A/R housing.....you can't go by A/R to determine turbine size, you need to go by trim size.

OH CHicken
I have a 5 speed manual behind the 250 with no plan to change to an Auto Im sure the auto would be better down the strip but i love the manual. I would love to get the car into the 14s Currently does low 17s with the single barrel and log N/A I want it to spool up at lower rpm so its still fun round town so am thinking a smaller A/R is probably good

Does 10s
Yep its similar to yours as I figured if it works for you it will work for me Everyone has a different opinion but the T04B keeps coming up but theres a few different ideas on trims A/r,s etc Would you recomend going to the .58 I havent yet purchased the turbo so i can still choose either What trim would you reccomend

Lincs 200
All the shops that I have spoken to here reccomend P trim when I have mentioned S3 and 0 trim they go blank Shame about the Holley Blue I paid good money for it ......

Given I can order an trim and a/r combo I would like to hear any suggestions for the turbo ...Complete specs if poss.
Im not a turbo expert and keep hearing different things
Thanks for your replies :D :D :D :NZ:

For your big 250 you need to be able to breath so stay with a "P" trim turbine. I am going to move from an "O" up to a "P" for my next version.
All the diifferent compressor trims are available all over the internet, just search for "Garrett compressor map"

or here:

You may be able to up the prssure of the Holley Blue....problem is, all fuel pumps have decreased volume at higher pressure (esp holleys from internal leakage past vanes) but you can use any cheap inline EFI pump from an auto breaker yard (as long as it is in good condition) to increase pressure under boost.
I use a Holley Red to feed an inline EFI pump to an Aeromotive regulator.

In reading a spec on my turbo, it lists the turbine as 60mm wheel w/84 trim.

Compressor side is listed as 76.2 mm w/56 trim

:?:

Isnt that TO4E specs?...TO4B trims are labeled with letter designations, not wheel size and number designations...maybe im wrong, or your just looking at someplace that is deciding to label them in diameter and a number trim.

i dunno.. al lthe TO4B turbos i have EVER seen listed have the basic trims of H, S, V, T5/T6, all come in Hi output? versionas as well, and also the 60-1, the 60 trim, and anything bigger you have tobe running something serious for a six....
