Ive been looking at classicinlines.com and the intake package with the new head and everything looks like a nice upgrade but im wondering about the camshaft, im just starting out getting to know my way around my 200ci engine or any engine for that matter,

anyways for my questions... What real advantages are there to an upgraded cam shaft and how do i know which one is right for my application, how hard is the removal and installation??? Would it be possiable for a novice like myself to do???

8) as with any engine, the stock cam is a compromise between performance and fuel economy over a fairly wide rpm range. when choosing a cam, first decide what you want from the engine, and what rpm range you are planning to use the engine in about 85% of the time. for example in daily driving you want your best power in the off idle to 4500 rpm range, and you should select a cam that works in that rpm range. you can fudge the rpm range a bit, but you want to stay close. if you select carefully you gain both power and efficiency in the rpm range you choose, but remember that the proper exhaust system, and in intake that also works in the same rpm range will work to maximize that efficiency.

what is your application? auto or manual? whats your compression ratio? rear gear?

that depends on what you mean by novice. you will have to remove the radiator, fan, timing cover and the old timing chain. you should also replace your lifters ($55) and timing chain ($20). remember to use lots of assembly lube.

umm im not sure about the compression ratio, i have a 7.5 rear, how can i make sure that the intake will complement the cam???? For removal i take the grille, radiator, fan, timing cover and chain and just slide it out the front????

Thanks for the info guys

8) in the case of the new head, any of the cams mike sells will do just fine. just pick the rpm range you want the cam to work best in.
