Can you say good bye to dizzy springs and vacuum?

Was just brousing the Jegs catalog since I'm bored out of my mind at work and at least this way I look busy.

I've got some plans in the works for a few projects. Eventually DS2, some sort of forced air, all on an Aussie head. So I was looking at that timing computer. It it really nice to be able to set your own ignition curve, vice basing it on springs and vacuum (near impossible with forced air anyways).

Only thing, how you lock a DS2? Basically it looks like you set the dizzy manually for the full advance, then the computer just retards the timing based on RPM. So you have to lock your dizzy at say 32*BTDC. How do you do that?

The program interface on a PC is so cool...Now granted I wouldn't need about 90% of the functions, but the timing curve and the boost retard curve are nice. They have those two as seperate boxes, but with now computer interface and less adjustability, and costs the same together as the one box.

ooooooh! Now couple that sort of ignition control with an injection system and it'll be yummy.

I'm starting to get squishy about the idea of trying to mate EFI to an OZ-head (that I don't have..... yet)

Even on it's own, the advance curve control with a carb would be really nice. How much for that system? I'm in the market for the DSII conversion soon.

It's pricey...$370 for the controller, plus you need a MSD 6 or 7. $150 for that. Grand total, $520 for the entire set up, plus what ever you need for the DS2.

I looked at an EFI set up for the Aussie...makes sense...easy to adapt a Throttle body to the intake. Tap a few holes for injectors. TBI also looks to be an even easier mod. I think the controller is generally overkill for what I need, but when the two units I need total $320, might as well spring the extra $50 and get the ability to better program the car.
