Quick question, how do you properly set an automatic choke on an autolite 1100? I understand that you turn the black knob portion, but how do I get it set right? Thanks!
IIRC you loosen the three screws which hold the choke spring housing and, with the engine cold, turn the housing until there is 1/8 in. clearance between the butterfly and the carb body (a 1/8" drill bit works as a gauge). Then tighten down the three screws and start her up and make sure the choke fully opens when the engine reaches operating temp.
