I have a carter rbs that came off a 74 maverick with manual transmission, and the question is will this carb work on a 66 mustang with automatic tranny, I don't much about the carbs but it was rebuilt by holley and looks to be solid. will this be beneficial or should I look for a 2bbl instead.

It looks like the linkage will have to be adapted it pulls the opposite direction as the auto lite does.

give me some suggestions

thanks,
mike

Yes, It will work! Heres a picture of one on a early Mustang,

Grab the air cleaner also. You might have to make youre own adapter plate out of a chunk of aluminum stock, but thats not a big deal.

actually I have the head and adapter plate that the carb came with.

do you have any idea how the throttle linkage connects it's totally backwards, and I saw that picture on your website so I kinda answered my own question,

do you think I sould just go for the holley dual carb instead? I want the most performance out of my carb the first time not going from one to the other.

thanks,
mike
