cleaning a carb

When it comes to cleaning a carb....a dip in the carb cleaner bucket? OR is there another way to make that "pony" mixing device look good? Was wondering if anyone has used a sand blaster ( media ) to make it look fresh. I have dipped mine several times but I can't seem to get the look I'm looking for. It seems to always look dull or not completely clean.

Thanks,
Hump.

I used to have bolts and carb parts re-plated in (Cad) Cadmium gives them a dull silver look or in Gold Iridite, both last a long time. Other small parts can be blasted to bare metel and then be painted over with a good clear to protect it from rusting. Here is a link to another carb refinishing product too. http://www.eastwood.com/carb-renew-2.html. Good luck
