So, I've been driving the Mustang again recently and I've come to realize that I'm really not happy with my wheel/tire combination.

I moved to a 15x7 American Racing wheel, but I just don't like how it looks anymore.

Believe it or not, I've long forgotten the correct backspacing for the original 14in steel wheels.

What I think I would like to do is get a 15in steel wheel, and just use the vintage rally wheel style hubacps.

So, here are my questions -

- Can someone tell me the exact size and backspacing of the original wheel. I believe it was 14x5 (?) but I have no idea on backspacing.
- Do they may have 15in steel wheel with 4 lug?

Thanks!

The correct backspacing was 3 3/4". I dont think that they make a 15" wheel with four lugs.

I am not sure for the 14''x5''. But that is what mine is for my 14x7. I will check on my stock rims though. You can also do this if you still have your original wheels. All you have to do is deflate the tire on your wheel. Then place the wheel on the ground with the side that faces the brakes facing up. Then place a straight edge across the wheel. Last, just measure down to the mounting plate and that is the correct amount of backspacing that you will need.

CC I have 14x6 wheels on my 66 with 4x4.5 lug pattern and 3.5 inch backspace.
