Hi guy's, I'm new to posting but I have been reading for quite a while now. I have a 1960 hand me down form Grandpa. All beat up of course. I was wondering if anyone could help me with the the Idea of having at least three drive groves on the crank rather than the one only that's on the dampener. What have you all done about running you new power steering A/C's and anything else you might want to run with other than the one main belt. All thoughts on the subject would be appreciated. :?:

If you can find them in your area the big Ford trucks with the 223 or 262 engines had dual grove pulleys. Also these engines share some parts with the Ford Y Blocks and accessory type or aftermarket Air conditioner units were fitted by bolting on extra pulley sieves.

Thanks Bubba, I have found a new pulley thru a mechine shop in my local area. It seems I can buy a new one from there order book with two grooves on it. I suppose if I want to add one more groove for another Item I can always add a two grooved pulley to the water pump although I would not want to put to much demand on the pump shaft. Thanks again.

What you gotta watch out for is clearance between your pulley and fan. If you add two pulleys, the fan blades will hit the damper when the crankshaft is rotated, so you add a fan spacer between the pump pulley and fan blade. Then your fan hits the radiator. Can the radiator be moved forward on a 1960 ?

The 60 has so much room you wonder how it gets along with out a shroud. Room to move out with pulleys is not going to be a problem. Thanks for the look out!!!
