I have a '77 vintage 250 head I want use on my 200, I have the SI oversized SS valves for it and plan on doing some porting. I want to use a holley 350 cfm carb I have. I want to direct mount, meaning I don't want funnel 2 into 1. But the manifold seams to be raised for the back cylinders more than the front cylinders. It looks like it would be really thin if I could even get it flat. What do I do? Can it work? I hear the '77 and newer head is the way to go. How do you boys do it?

This is how you do it.
You need to have the log low areas brazed by someone who knows what they are doing, the head has to pre heated prior to brazing, the after the brazing all the freeze plugs need to be replaced, the head milled & a valve job done.
Mill the head log at the same angle as it now is so the carb will set close to level when you are done.
