Do 170 & 200 Head Gaskets Really Interchange?

I need to change my head gasket and some of the gaskets I've seen say they will fit a 170, 200, and a 250. Since the 170 has a smaller bore, is it really right to use the same gasket as a 200? Not all the gaskets I've seen say they will fit both (like Classic Inlines'). Also, is it true that Victor head gaskets are thinner (because I don't really want to get my head milled right now) and if so, does anyone know where I can find one?

Thanks,

Mark

the 170 and 200 head gaskets are the same. carquest auto parts carries the victor gasket line. I know they have locations in california , if you do'nt have one close by you can order online.the victor gasket is thinner than other composite gaskets at a .044 compressed thickness. make sure to check the head surface with a strait edge when you have it off to make sure the head is not warped. just assuming you changing the gasket due to a leak or blown head gasket.
