Greetings.

I will be running a log head with a Holley 2bbl direct mount adapter.

If I may ask what mods did you do to your carb to make it compatible with blow through and E85.

I have been reading on setting up a Holley 2bbl for blow through. What about E85?

Did you have to change floats? I know your supposed to drill out the metering circuit behind the power valve for blow through. Did you have to open it up even more for E85? Are you running one of the coated E85 compatible metering blocks?

Thanks for any info

Mark.

Mark,
We ran a 350 Holley for a long time before Classic Inlines came out with the Aluminum head.
Yes I did most of the normal mods required for blow-thru.
PVCRs were drilled out to .093". (I think that's where they're at). I started small and worked my way up in drill sizes as I tuned.
Power valve is still installed. Some people remove this for some reason. I prefer to have it in there so it'll richen up the mixture under boost.
Yes the float has to change to a Nitrofyl(sp?) one. It's the solid black plastic looking one. In your case get the one set up for circle track. It'll have a bevel on the "backside". Assuming your float bowl is facing the shocktower, the bevel will be toward the rear of the car. This is to ensure that the float doesn't shut off the flow of fuel during hard acceleration. I took us some time to learn that. :bang:
We're currently not running any special metering block(s). We do have some from Quickfuel but haven't gotten them to work properly yet. So I always go back to our normal modified Holley ones.

For E85 all I did was to make everything flow more fuel. And I mean everything! Accelerator pump, squirter, PVCRs, needle/seat, fuel lines, pump, regulator etc..........
Hope that helps a bit!
Later,
Will
