will a 170 cam fit a 200 ? i have a marine cam in my boat motor(1965 the block froze) and i want to put it in a newer used car motor(1975) to go backin my boat . will it work all i really need is the long block from the car engine the rest i will use my marine stuff .

Sure it will. You can get a great timing set from FSPP to go with it, too. Most aftermarket cams stress the timing chain to the point of losing some accuracy, after only about 20000 miles. The roller timing sets from Mike are rather more durable.

I am not sure....depends on how bearings there are. I seem to recall this being discussed before as the older motors are 4 main and only have 4 bearing journals on teh cam? there would be no problem if the cam has 7 bearings though

All cams for the Ford small sixes have only four journals. All of these on the cam, are consistent from one year to another. The bores in the block changed at times, meaning that cam bearing sets differ, but actual cams interchange right through from the 144 to the last 250.

Cheers, Adam.
