Drilling Out Spacer Plate???

I have the spacer plate for a carter Yf (i think thats what its for) on an 1980 200. I am putting an Autolite 1100 on it. I got it rebuilt by Pony Carbs and was wondering if i could machine a grove in the plate for vacum to the carb? Will this work? Thanks!

seems like the proper gasket matches up pretty good with the funny groove in the adapter to use as a guide. Can't be nuthin too special about carving out your own groove..

If you haven't run the 1100 yet, maybe you can return it and get one of their rebuilt 1101 carbs. The 1101 will have the larger throat and bolt right on with no modifications.

John from Pony Carbs called today. He said to cut a chanel from the hole in gasket to the intake manifold. That will provide enough vacum for the distributor.
