Dumb Oil Question

I don't have my Chilton's manual handy (packed away for move), so I need a quck question answered. How much oil does a stock 200, with stock oilpan and filter (the FL-1A) need? I'm guessing around 4 to 5 quarts, but need to be sure. I was told to never trust dipsticks :roll:

4 is a good number Your filter will get some.

It's 4.5 with a standard filter change.

My Fairmont 200 uses the PH8 (Fram) filter and requires 5 quarts of oil.
I don't know what year of engine you have, though.
