I had some time to kill today, so I searched in the NAPAOnline site and found these part numbers:
Cap: ECHFA136 31.95
Cap Adapt: FA139 9.49
Rotor: FA154 5.49
If anyone has different numbers for these parts, please let me know.
Thanks,
Ken

Not quite sure what you're after, Ken. The DS1 distributor uses the small diameter cap similar (if not identical) to the breaker point unit. The DS2 has the large, two piece cap for the purpose of getting a larger distance between the terminals to prevent cross-firing (this was actually more of a problem on the V-8's).

The caps are not interchangeable.

Look here about 2/3 the way dowm MustangSix posted a pic of what I assume is the duraspark1 cap.

From what I can see that cap screws directly to the dizzy in the same holes that the II adaptor does. The only differnce I see is the 1 uses the points style male ended wires and the 2 uses the female end HEI style. The 1 seems to be a special order cap & rotor. The 2 is in stock everywhere and available from various brands and grades.

Wow! I stand most humbly corrected. It sorta makes sense that Ford would'nt build a totally new unit, just do some modifications and add a few new parts. I wonder if this would apply to the big block sixes as well. Hmmmm....?

So could a DS2 cap/rotor fit on a breaker points distibutor?

They will. When I changed out the points for a DS2 on my 74 F100.I found that the adapter will fit the points type dizzy.Altho the 74 had a 302 in it,Ibelieve that the diameter of the 6 and 8 dizzy is the same where the cap goes on.

The cap adapter for a DSII will fit earlier DSI distributors, allowing you to fit the later large cap. Conversly, the small cap will also fit the DSII allowing you to keep a more stock appearance. The rotor has to be repalced to match the style of cap used.

I don't belive you can make the lower cap adapter fit an early points distributor. It screws on and the early distributor has clips. There was (and may still be) a "cap adapter" for the small block that allowed a large cap and rotor to be used. That may fit the points distributor.
