Duraspark II Install (WOW)

I want to thank everyone on the messageboard for communicating past problems and wins with the installation of Electronic Ingition. Last week I installed rebuilt 79 Fairmont Dist., crome coil and Accel (8mm) wires. I went with the GM control Module for $12 and made a mounting bracket. Gap is set at .050. Start up is good, but the real fun is from 2000 to 3200 RPM. It's so smooth and strong.

I hope to add the MSD 6a box in time and $$. Only issue at this point is my spark plugs are white. I assume this is a lean condition and hope to solve this soon. I been playing with JET's sizes....... WHY, WHY, WHY...

The MSD is nice, but you won't see a huge power increase, but you'll see an increase at the pump.

Howdy PEII:

Given your locale and ignition changes, you may need a colder heat range spark plug, rather than, or, in addition to a richer jet.

You might also want to consider a colder thermostat, but not lower than a 180.

Tuning and observation is the answer.
