One of my work mates has a rare EA Falcon with a 5 speed manual and an original 3.2 litre engine that has just been written off.
Will his 5 speed fit OK into my TD Cortina and are they a good box and are the latter 200ci rods in the EA better than my early Crosslow 200ci ones for fitment of the shorter ACL piston into 250 Iron head Crossflow?

mmm i have never heard of a ea with a crossflow?the eairly ea's had a 3.2 ohc wich was simmilar to the 3.9 but had a different stroke and were given the chop with the series II ea due to being gutless and unpopular.i think the ea 5 speeds were a good box but id say the shifter location would not match up to your cortina shift hole.other than that i dont think the ea 5 speed bolts up to a xflow

If its a different stroke I propably wont be able to use these rods with the special pistons ACL provide for this, thanks Sonny.

the gearbox was a T5 as used in the XF model and the EA box can be bolted to your xflow with the correct bellhousing etc..... castlemaine rod shop or dellow should have everything you need

As for the rods etc from the ea donk.... not sure on that one, i leave those sorta questions to xtaxi

hey
yeah they can be bolted up. .......
but you need to cut a hole 100mm further back for the shifter to come up make your own shifter and may have to move the handbrake (some do some dont) you will also need a xf t5 bell housing about 200 s/h or 250+ from crs and change you wiring loom if the bellhousing is left hand starter motor.
and use the long falcon clutch cable so not the easyest job in the world.
As for the rods not sure but id just get the 200ci polished and shotpeened and they wont brake till about 15psi etc
