Exhaust ?

I have a 1962 Ranchero with a x-flow. Would be the same as a falcon 1960-1963 maybe more. I tried a front pipe from a maverick with a 250 and the angle was wrong. Maybe it is because the connection where the exhaust flange fits the exhaust manifold is a different angle than the American 250. I would go to a muffler shop but with no exhaust it hard to drive. Is there any suggestions on a pipe that works?? Thanks for any help.

Use the stock 200 exhast from the last of the US X-shells, the 200/3.3 Comete/Maverick, 1975-1977 Granada 200/3.3, or the Bronco 170 or 200 downpipe. The Aussie X-flow basically uses the old US 200 starter placement, 25 degrees up from the bottom of the engine, but it is out a bit further as it runs the six bolt 157 or five bolt 160 teeth small block Windsor flexplate and flywheel, instead of the early roundbody 132, later squarebody 136 and Fox body 138 teeth starters. The US 250 down pipe is bent to clear the low mount SBF starter bolt pattern, and it won't clear the stock Aussie X-flow starter.

That should get you right in ball park for a few bucks of lost part car yard raiding.

Good fortune!

xctasy, I read a lot of your post and value you answers, The last pipe I bought was not long enough from the exhaust manifold to the floor board before it cured under the car

It needs to be 1.66" longer. Cut the pipe, put in a slipper joint, and RTV it.

That will work. Old Ak Miller SOHC Pinto and 250 and 300 I6 Turbo instillations do it all the time for the turbo downpipe. David Vizard tip for Long Center Branch headers on a front drive Mini

I went to the garage and put the pipe from my 170 and other than it is 1 7/8 diameter . IT FITS! I think I will go to a muffler shop and have one made that is larger. Should it be 2 inch or 2 1/4 . Thanks so much!!!
