If I am correct extractors are known headers in the US? If that is tru is the flange the same as for any US six small six or big six?

Headers usually finish with a bolt on flange closer to the engine head and extractors are usually longer to the exhaust.

I am open for correction. Photos to show point >

I haven't found anybody selling them in the US.
If you find anyone, let me know.

you would be very lucky to find that - the exhaust flange is different on the cross flow to the log head (precrossflow).
i do know you can buy just the flanges for the crossflows headers/extractors here in oz (dont ask me where though.. as i saw it on a website -once)
but if you were going to make your own, the flange would be the easiset bit to make

EDIT : i 'think' the exhaust manifold bolting arrangement is differnt between the alloy and cast iron headed crossflows. some companies make dual bolted extractors(!) to fit either

cast iron head:

traditionally in australia (as we followed british english)the word 'extractors' meant a tubular exhaust manifold - but with increasing americanisation of the australian languge they are also now refered to as 'headers' in common language usage

Generally speaking, shorter headers and longer headers are both referred to as headers in the US.

Frequently, the designation is made between "short tube headers" and "long tube headers".
