fan removal..do I have to move radiator?

I am gonna swithc fans....but when I loosened the bolt....surprise...It hit rad before it was backed out...

suggestions? I really CANT drain the rad unless abosultly necc...I live in a apt building...

why dont u get a pile of buckets and catch the coolant as it comes out, u get quite a bit of it...i had to do that once.

You should be able to get it off with out pulling the radiator. Loosen all four bolts, do not try to take them all the way out. The fan, spacer , bolts and pulley should all come off in one chunk.

It is possible, just takes patience. Like mentioned, remove all four bolts and you should be able to. You have to basically get the bolts out to free the spacer. Once that is done, there will be enough room to remove it.
