Hi,

I am interested to hear what the fastest time you have heard of a 250 or 3.3 doing down the 1/4 without methanol or NOS. Any Car / tranny.

My next backyard engine build may be N/A so I need an indication of what to expect.

I know of an xf efi running 13.8 with auto modified vane metre and all the good bits.

Ive also read of tripple weber cortinas running low 14s many times.

Talking straight six n/a engines there was a 265 hemi which was dyno'd at 265rwhp at http://www.redcliffedyno.com/top10.asp <-----here.

It runs a solid cam and 650 double pumper with huge amounts of head work. I wonder what it would run down the quarter :)

How does 13.6 sec from a stock 200 cube 1963 Falcon with Nitrous and a 500 Holley 2-bbl sound. Stock 3-speed, stock everything!

xcute,

did it go ka boom at the finish line

we tried this technique with my mates Val...didn't last long.

Stock enough for ya?

We (townsville) have a tc or td cortina running 12.1 and 12.2 N/A. I had to head down to the strip to check it out my self. You should hear it sounds like a jet.

The most info i could get about it was it was running tripple 48's and reved to 8 1/2 grand.

Cheers

Simon

i ran a 12.16@110mph in my te cortina with single rail 3.7 diff and solid cam 250 with 750bg carb and custom extractors. made 272rwhp. and only revs to 6000rpm

Damn! some of those times are impressive for N/A! id like to be hitting 12's with my turbo xflow! i might have to shoot for 11's now ;)

13's are pretty quick, and yes 8500 rpm is damn scary!

So whats the quickest anyone can recall a pre-crossflow doing? I'm looking at rebuilding my stock pre-xflow 250. I've got a 2v head in the garage and curious what sort of times would be 'acceptable' :)

on the cortina cruise we went on at the ettamooga (dont know how to spell it) pub there was the guy from redcliffe i think in the blue td with the k&n through the bonnet was pulling 12's n/a had a 650 dp on it etc.

12.6@107.. im pretty sure it didnt even get to the 6200 limter either..
Te cortina NA.... theres quite a few about theres another TE that runs down at COLDER (calder), that i think is in the 12.5's 2

In South Australia, I have heard of a 250 2v in a TC doing 11.6, a 250 Xflow in a TC Cortina producing 650hp no NOS and the same car with NOS running 9.6 second passes. These were some pretty wild motors.

THAT WOULD BE NONE OTHER THAN, DAVE ADAMS IN HIS RED TC.
RUNS A C-4 AND 3.5 BW DIFF. THERE IS OVER 10 YEARS OF R+D IN THAT BEAST..

Very good. Someone has done their homework. Wicked car hey? Dave is helping me get rid of the bugs in my Cortina at the moment. If I was going to get someone to build an engine for me it would be him.
